Victoria was commissioned by Mayflower, in association with the University of Southampton, to develop a new piece of work to be showcased as part of the British Science Festival, Southampton 2026.

Generate: Creative Responses to AI Research featured Best Foot Forward - a collaboration with Nadera Assim, a podiatrist and Black Futures scholar at the University of Southampton. Nadera’s doctoral research examines the intersection between the UK asylum system and foot care among people seeing asylum who live with type 2 diabetes.

Best Foot Forward is a work in-progress, exploring Nadera’s research in the context of AI, and asking questions about art, health, humanity and the price of progress. It also features a giant plastic foot, and a robot head made out of a cardboard box and some yoghurt pots.
