a creative community project all about bemerton heath

Professional artists and 125 local people aged 4-90 worked together to explore their creativity through Drama Workshops and Textile Art Workshops.

We have made 70 metres of beautiful Bemerton Heath Bunting (the Bayeux Tapestry is only 68.3 metres - just saying!) We also made this short film about what we’ve been up to. And alongside making bunting, drinking tea, and wearing ridiculous costumes, we talked about what people love about living in Bemerton, what they don’t love, and what they would change.

Salisbury Bemerton has been awarded Pride in Place funding - meaning the area will receive up to £20 million of funding and support over the next 10 years to make long-term improvements that residents want.

We carefully gathered all the different things people said and wrote and drew about Bemerton in the workshops, to feed back to the Community Board as they create the 10 year Pride in Place vision and plan.
